Last Friday, King's Day was celebrated throughout the Netherlands. It is one of the most important days in the country. People take to the streets dressed in orange clothes or accessories and we can hear music in every corner.
Our party started the night before, in the well-known "King's Night". People go out and party and drink beer. My friends and I went to dinner at a restaurant and then went to the disco in Heerlen.
On Friday morning, we prepare and go out into the street. There were many people and we were very surprised when we saw a stage and bands playing Dutch songs. We dance and sing a little. It was fun! Then, we went for a drink and sat on the terrace of the restaurant for several hours.
To finish the day, an Arcus teacher invited all Erasmus students who were in Heerlen to have dinner at their home. We ate nachos, meat, salad, ..., everything was delicious! He and his wife treated us very well.
Thank you very much, Said!
Before arriving at our house, we went through one of the bars and had a beer to finish the night while we were listening to music.
It was a grear day!!!
